It is your responsibility to ensure you are returning parts back to the correct company originally purchased from. We are not responsible for any product purchased from a different online retailer and returned to GMPartsNow.

Simple Online Return Form

In order to start the return process, we will need some information from you first. 

Most refunds are issued within 3-5 business days after the return is received at our facility. Any shipment returned via freight service may take longer to process.

Return forms are not seen until the return part is back at our facility, any questions or comments regarding the return should be directed towards our customer service email.

GM Parts Now strives to make returns easy, even when you order the wrong part or when you decide you just don't need the part! Other online parts distributors will refuse to accept returns, even when you get the wrong part because of their website. Sometimes they will even blame you for ordering the wrong part! We don't do any finger pointing at GM Parts Now. In general, we strive to accept returns for any items that have not been installed or damaged by you. But, of course, our legal department had to make it more complicated and get super specific. On this page you should find all your answers to our return policy. Refunds

GM Parts Now is committed to providing the best customer satisfaction possible. We will gladly refund or replace any defective item and most non-defective items. Within 90 days of receipt of your order, you may return products that:

  • Are in their original manufacturer packaging (shipping packaging can be opened)
  • Have original manufacturer information
  • Are not used, installed, or disassembled
  • Sealed packages are not opened
  • Are not damaged due to incorrect installation
  • The item is not a hazardous material (HAZMAT)
  • Do not have missing parts, hardware or instructions
  • Are in original, unaltered condition (have not been installed, painted/sanded, or worked on in any way) 
  • Are less than 180 days old. We use PayPal as a payment processor and are only able to process refunds up to 180 days.

Once we have received your return, conducted an inspection of the return, and verified that your return meets the above guidelines, a full refund will be issued to the same method of purchase used. All applicable sales taxes will be refunded. The cost of shipping will be credited only in those instances that the return is a result of our errorIF YOU SUBMIT AN ORDER WITHOUT THE VIN, WE CANNOT GUARANTEE FITMENT AND ARE NOT LIABLE FOR THE SHIPPING COST IF YOU CHOOSE TO RETURN IT.  C.O.D. shipments will not be accepted. 

Items returned that were not purchased from GMPartsNow.com:

If you return a part to us that was not originally purchased from our site, you will receive an email regarding the issue. If we do not receive a response to that email within 10 business days, the part will be discarded. GMPartsNow is not responsible for additional shipping charges to send part back or to the correct company. We understand that mistakes happen and will do our best to correct the situation in a timely manner prior to discarding parts.

Restocking Fees:

GMPartsNow does not have a restocking fee on most items however, there are certain circumstances where a 20% restocking fee may apply. If a return does not meet the criteria from the “Refunds” section a restocking fee may be applied at the discretion of our returns department. Most of the time a restocking fee is only applied to returns greater than 180 days old or missing certain GM packaging. A restocking fee is necessary to help GMPartsNow.com maintain appropriate inventory levels and to keep the high demand products on the shelf for availability.

Damaged Products:

If you receive a damaged shipment you must notify us within 10 business days, preferably by email with pictures of the damage. Freight shipments must be inspected for damage before signing for delivery, damaged freight shipments are best handled by rejecting the entire shipment. In cases where there are multiple parts and only one part damaged, have the specific piece damaged noted on the bill of lading before signing for delivery. Failure to note damage on freight shipments may result in a denial of a damage claim. 

Missing Shipments:

If you notice your tracking number shows “Delivered” but you have not received your package, it is urgent that you notify us within 1-3 days of it showing delivered. Both FedEx and USPS have limits for us to file a lost package trace so the sooner we are notified the better, we will contact the carrier and will need to allow 2-4 business days for the carrier to look into the issue before we may move forward with a reshipment or refund. Many carriers now use either pictures of the package on the porch or GPS location at the time of delivery scans to ensure delivery to the correct locations.  If the carrier photo shows the package at your property, Gmpartsnow is not liable for stolen items.  We are not responsible for missing or damaged items that are processed through a freight forwarding service that ships internationally.

Refused Freight Shipments:

$150 will be deducted from your refund for refused freight shipments, all other refused shipments will be accepted as a return minus original shipping and the cost incurred from the refusal. This includes shipments that are not able to be delivered if nobody is there to receive the shipment.  If a redelivery can be scheduled, you will be responsible for redelivery charges.

3rd Party Discontinued Warehouse Parts:

We have a separate company we work with who may have availability on some discontinued parts no longer stock by GM. If we can special order your part from this warehouse the part would be non-returnable. You will be notified by email if a part ordered needs to be ordered from this warehouse prior to your order being processed that your part falls under this category as they are not always clearly marked online. We strongly recommend letting us double check part numbers with your VIN to ensure you are going to receive the correct part. 

Hazmat Parts:

GM Parts Now will issue a full refund for any returned products when your return meets the above requirements. The only exception to this is HAZMAT (hazardous material) items. HAZMAT items are clearly labeled in our catalog. You will be alerted that an item is HAZMAT before you place your order. In all cases, the cost of shipping will be credited only if the return is a result of our error.

Pre-Paid Credit Card Purchases:

If you made a purchase with a pre-paid credit card and need to return a part, you are strongly urged to contact us prior to sending the part back. We process all refunds back to the original method of payment and once a credit is issued in our system it is not able to be reversed. Please email our support staff and mention you used a pre-paid card, the only option for us to issue refunds in this instance is sending funds directly to a valid PayPal account.

Labor Charges:

GM Parts Now will not refund any labor costs incurred by you or the installer of the products purchased at this website. Parts that are painted are considered "paint to match" and do not come pre-painted to match your vehicle, costs involved with painting parts are not included in the sale price. Some electrical parts (modules/window switches) require programming to function properly after installation and not all parts are marked as such in the listing, costs required to program parts are not included in the sale price. 

Procedure for Returns

Before a return is shipped back to us, you must fill out the return form. Returns must be shipped back with a copy of the order's original invoice. The best way to contact us is by filling out our easy return formAfter you complete the return form, you will be taken to a page with return instructions. GMPartsNow.com is not responsible for any costs incurred for returning orders for any reason unless a GMPartsNow.com representative provides a shipping label.  You will not be reimbursed for shipping expenses under any circumstances should you choose to ship the item on your own.

We apologize, but we cannot accept returns of HAZMAT items for reasons of liability. HAZMAT items are clearly labeled in our catalog. You will be alerted that an item is HAZMAT before you place your order. 

Core Returns

If you would like to return an item associated with a core return value, please submit your request through our Returns form. Please note:

  • All fluids must be drained from the core
  • The core must be securely wrapped in plastic and sealed
  • Cores must be returned in the packaging used for the original shipment
  • All core labels and GM part number labels must remain on box and not be damaged or unreadable
  • Your core will be inspected to determine if the core is rebuild-able
  • Core return shipping charges are the responsibility of the customer. These are not refundable.
