Off Road, On the Shelf
Hummer gained popularity in the late 1980s and early 1990s as the military vehicle was featured in films and news footage on the Gulf War. Movie star Arnold Schwarzenegger became an early fan of the vehicle and had one adapted to become street legal. His support of the vehicle arguably paved the way for the Hummer to come to American streets. AM General was the original manufacturer of the vehicle that eventually became known as the H1. In 1998 General Motors purchased the brand and soon began producing new models of the rugged vehicle. It was marketed as a upscale SUV and Sport Utility Truck (SUT) built for dominance on the open road, on the trail, and off the trail.
Hummers are the most superb off-road vehicles around handling the roughest terrain. You’ll want to keep yours in peak condition with the most durable parts produced by the original equipment manufacturer (OEM). Genuine GM replacement parts from GMPartsNow.com are created with precision out of solid materials for your H2, H3, or H3T. Although the last Hummers have rolled off the assembly line in 2010, GM is still supporting parts production and GMPartsNow is an authorized distributor of Genuine Hummer parts, so while Hummer parts supplies are decreasing, we still have them in stock straight from the manufacturer. Search our huge parts catalog by VIN, make and model, or by part number. If you’re having any trouble finding the part you’re looking for, drop us a line immediately so we can get you going in the right direction. When you’re working your repair, you’re welcome to send us a note so you can keep moving forward on your task list. Just email us your question at email@example.com and we’ll get back to you quickly.
AM General continued manufacturing the H1 even after the brand was purchased by GM because the brand components and factories were so specialized to the design. Therefore, GM does not offer H1 replacement parts. GM took over production of the newer H2, based on the chassis of the Chevy Tahoe, which brought down the size slightly for easier road maneuverability. The H2 has exceptional off-road ability with full-time four-wheel-drive with locking center and rear differentials. The 6.0 liter V8 engine more than supports the 6 seats in this 6,700 pound vehicle.
The H3, based on the chassis of the Chevy Colorado, brought down the size and weight further to increase fuel efficiency and attractiveness to traditional SUV buyers. With less bulk came a 3.5 liter, 5 cylinder engine to deliver 14 mpg. The fully welded steel frame and 9.7 inches of ground clearance continued the 4x4 reputation of the family line. The H2 SUT and H3T still offered 4 seats, but transformed the hatchback into a truck bed, still with all the other perks of a Hummer.
The Hummer of All Warehouses
GMPartsNow was created by Berger Chevrolet, a recognized regional dealer with almost 100 years in selling cars and car parts. Berger knows that in order to serve people well you have to get cars and trucks fixed fast for a fair price. That’s why we chose to GO BIG instead of staying home. Our GMPartsNow warehouse is the size of a Hummer compared to other warehouses about the size of a Yugo. We have 65,000 square feet of continually rotating stock. When you order a part, we have another one still on the shelf for the next guy. Then we order a new part to replace the one on the shelf that we sold you. But none of our parts sit on the shelf for long since we’re constantly evaluating purchasing trends and market demands.
Our purchasing volume offers us power in negotiating lower prices with original parts manufacturers so we can pass the savings on to you. You’ll find affordable prices throughout our parts catalog. And where we can’t beat a competitor on the price of a part, we may beat them on shipping cost so the overall price to you will still be lower. The combination of low parts prices, low shipping costs, easy-to-use parts catalog, fast shipping, and an excellent return policy make GMPartsNow unbeatable.
Hummer Parts Still Humming Along
Since the H2 shares parts with the Chevrolet Tahoe and the H3 shares parts with the Chevrolet Colorado, finding parts for your Hummer should be no problem through our easy to use search tools or for our excellent GMPartsNow customer support team. Not all parts are the same as the shared model though and for those parts it’s a good thing that you’re shopping for parts online with an official, licensed Genuine GM parts distributor that receives weekly shipments straight from the original manufacturers to meet the exact specifications for your vehicle. Believe me, off-road out in the wild is not the place to be relying on aftermarket replacement auto parts. Here are some of the quality parts you will find through our online parts catalog:
Chrome Trim— Along with the immense size and wheel base, chrome is par for the course to be noticed in a Hummer. These finishing pieces are up front and on the edge and may get scratched or damaged as a result. You’ll find replacement door handles, fuel doors, vents, grilles, and anything that’s intended to shine (including mirrors, headlights, and tail lights) at GMPartsNow.
Climate Control— The original military vehicles weren’t equipped with air conditioning, but aren’t we lucky that when AM General and GM brought the H1 to the streets they included some personal comforts. If troubles arise with your heating or cooling, you can rely on GMPartsNow for A/C compressor, blower (fan) motor, condenser, evaporator, and even coolant shipped straight to your garage door.
Brakes— With more than 2 tons of metal in the H3 and more than 3 tons in the H2, you’ll need consistent stopping power. Update your brakes with brake pads, shoes, rotors, calipers, ABS sensors, adjustors, anchors.
With Hummer parts becoming harder to find, stick with the online parts distributor that has Hummer parts in stock and tons of connections to find the parts when we don’t have them. Shop GMPartsNow for all your Hummer replacement parts and accessories.
